DOI Link Generator

Clean a single DOI or switch to extraction mode to find unique DOI identifiers inside pasted reference text without uploading it.

Use the tool

Normalization and extraction run locally. DOI-shaped text is not proof that an identifier resolves.

How DOI normalization works, and what it cannot prove

A DOI has a prefix that starts with 10. followed by digits, a slash and a registrant-defined suffix. Lynara accepts a bare DOI, a doi: label and older dx.doi.org links, then normalizes the result to the https://doi.org/ form.

Worked example: the input “DOI: 10.1037/0003-066X.59.1.29.” loses its label and trailing period and becomes https://doi.org/10.1037/0003-066X.59.1.29. In extraction mode, the same DOI pasted with different letter case is returned once.

Normalization checks the identifier format, not the bibliographic match. A DOI copied from a PDF can include line-break artifacts or surrounding punctuation, so open the normalized link and confirm that the title and source are the work you intended to cite.

Crossref recommends the https://doi.org/ display form. Citation styles can still differ in how they present DOI information, so follow the style guide required by the assignment.

Privacy: bibliography and DOI utility inputs are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to a citation-processing backend.

Formula

canonical DOI URL = https://doi.org/ + normalized DOI; extraction finds DOI-shaped identifiers then de-duplicates normalized values

Example

doi: 10.1000/xyz123 becomes https://doi.org/10.1000/xyz123; extraction can collect several DOI strings from a pasted bibliography.

Questions

Does Lynara look up the DOI?

Not in this tool. It normalizes or extracts DOI identifiers locally; use a citation generator with DOI import when you need source metadata.

Can I extract several DOIs at once?

Yes. Switch to extraction mode and paste reference text; Lynara returns unique DOI-shaped identifiers it can normalize.
