arXiv ID Checker & Link Generator
Clean an arXiv identifier copied from text or an arxiv.org URL and check whether its structure matches a supported modern or legacy format.
Privacy: bibliography and DOI utility inputs are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to a citation-processing backend.
Formula
format validation only; canonical link = https://arxiv.org/abs/ + normalized identifier
A version suffix affects the text a reference points to
- A string such as arXiv:2101.12345v2 normalizes to 2101.12345v2.
- The v2 suffix requests that version; omitting it points to the record’s latest version. Check the actual record, authors and version history before citing it.
What the result tells you
The checker recognizes supported syntax and builds a link. It does not prove that an illustrative identifier exists or retrieve a paper.
Before you use the result
A valid-looking identifier does not establish peer review or correctness. Cite the version you actually read and follow the required reference style.

Questions
Does this verify the paper exists?
No. It validates supported identifier structure and creates a canonical link; it does not query arXiv.
Are legacy identifiers supported?
Yes. Common legacy archive/category forms such as hep-th/9901001 are supported in addition to modern numeric identifiers.
