Bibliography Duplicate Checker
Find repeated bibliography entries without fuzzy matching that could incorrectly merge two different sources.
Privacy: bibliography and DOI utility inputs are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to a citation-processing backend.
Formula
duplicates = references with the same normalized text after case, whitespace and leading reference-number normalization
A normalized duplicate is a review candidate rather than a deletion instruction
- Identical references labeled [1] and [8] can be grouped after leading-label normalization.
- Compare the title, authors, year, edition or version, and DOI before deciding whether two records describe the same work. Near-duplicates with different wording may not match.
What the result tells you
The checker finds a defined class of repeated text and preserves the original lines for your bibliographic decision.
Before you use the result
A correction and its original article, or different editions, may be legitimate separate sources. Deleting a reference also requires checking the in-text citations.
Useful for
- Checking a reference list before submission
- Finding repeated citations after merging notes
- Reviewing numbered bibliographies for duplicate lines
Questions
Does this use fuzzy matching?
No. Lynara avoids guessing that two similar references are the same source.
Does it rewrite my references?
No. It reports duplicate groups and line positions while preserving the pasted text.
