How Digital SAT Scoring Works
The SAT reports a Reading and Writing section score and a Math section score, each from 200 to 800. The total is their sum, but the live digital test uses adaptive scoring, so raw correct-answer counts are not a universal score conversion.
Method
- Use known 200–800 section scores when calculating an official total.
- Add Reading and Writing plus Math for the 400–1600 total.
- For paper practice tests, use the conversion table published for that specific practice test.
- Treat a raw-score practice range as an estimate, not a live-test prediction.
Worked example
650 Reading and Writing plus 700 Math gives a 1350 total.
On Practice Test #11, raw correct-answer counts map to section score ranges rather than one exact live SAT score.
