Formula
Enhanced ACT Composite = round((English + Math + Reading) ÷ 3)
Keep the enhanced Composite separate from a historical four-section result
- English 30, Math 28 and Reading 31 average 29.6667, producing an enhanced Composite of 30 after rounding.
- A separate Science score of 24 is excluded from that current Composite. Under the historical four-section model, these four scores average 28.25 and round to 28.
What the result tells you
The same core section scores give different results under different test versions. Choose the model that matches the score report.
Before you use the result
Enter reported scaled section scores, not a guessed conversion from raw answers. An official superscore across different tests is a separate reporting question.

Does Science count in the ACT Composite now?
For the enhanced ACT, the Composite is based on English, Math and Reading; Science is optional and is not part of the Composite.
