Words Per Page Calculator
Convert between words and pages with a transparent formatting estimate instead of treating 250 words per page as a universal rule.
Privacy: calculator inputs are processed in your browser; Lynara does not need to upload these values to calculate the result.
Formula
estimated words per page = font baseline × font-size factor × line-spacing factor × usable-page-area factor
A planning estimate cannot replace checking the formatted document
- At a hypothetical 250 words per page, 2,000 words estimates 8 pages.
- If the actual document averages 200 words per page after headings and paragraph breaks, the same text occupies 10 pages.
What the result tells you
The difference comes from layout without changing the word count. Use the controls to explore a writing target and inspect the final document in the submission application.
Before you use the result
Tables, references, footnotes, images and page breaks affect pagination. A preset does not certify that an essay meets a page requirement.
Useful for
- Essay page estimates
- Converting page requirements to word targets
- Comparing formatting assumptions
Questions
Why is the result only an estimate?
Actual page flow depends on font metrics, paragraph structure, headers, citations and word-processor layout beyond the simplified formatting model.
Can I calculate in both directions?
Yes. Convert a word count to estimated pages or a page requirement to an estimated word target.
