Word Frequency Counter
See which words dominate an essay, transcript or set of notes without uploading the text to a server or AI model.
Privacy: calculator inputs are processed in your browser; Lynara does not need to upload these values to calculate the result.
Formula
frequency = occurrences of each normalized word token; percentage = occurrences ÷ counted tokens × 100
Filtering changes the denominator in a frequency table
- In “study notes improve study recall”, study appears twice among five tokens: a 40% share.
- Excluding common words or changing minimum length can change the counted-token denominator, so comparisons need consistent settings.
What the result tells you
A repeated term can be essential subject vocabulary. Use the table to find passages to inspect rather than to choose automatic replacements.
Before you use the result
The tool counts normalized tokens rather than meanings or stems. Replacing precise terminology with varied synonyms can make a draft less clear.
Useful for
- Spotting repeated words in essays
- Analyzing study notes or transcripts
- Checking vocabulary repetition
