Use the chart only for equal-value questions
The grading chart maps each possible correct-answer count to a percentage when every question has the same value. If an assessment mixes essays, partial-credit problems or weighted sections, calculate from points earned and points possible instead of using a simple question-count chart.
Confirm the total number of questions before printing or sharing the chart. Letter-grade cutoffs are only a reference unless they match the class policy, so teachers should apply their own scale after the percentage is calculated.
Formula
row percentage = correct answers ÷ total questions × 100
Example
For a 25-question test, 24 correct = 96%, 23 correct = 92%, and so on.
