Study Days Between Dates Calculator
Turn a calendar date range into a usable study-day count without manually counting weekends.
Turn a weekday count into an achievable study schedule
A calendar-day or weekday count is only available capacity on paper. For example, Monday 5 January through Sunday 18 January 2026 includes 14 calendar dates and 10 weekdays. If two weekdays are school holidays or personal commitments, only eight study sessions remain. A 20-hour study requirement would then need 20 ÷ 8 = 2.5 hours per usable session, not 20 ÷ 10 = 2 hours.
Use the calculator for the inclusive calendar interval and weekend preference first. Then subtract your own closures, appointments and non-study dates; the tool cannot discover local holidays or your availability. If the resulting daily hours exceed the time you can actually protect, reduce scope, start earlier or revise the plan instead of quietly counting unavailable days.

Formula
study days = inclusive calendar dates − excluded weekend dates
Inclusive working dates differ from elapsed days
- Monday 5 January through Sunday 11 January 2026 includes 7 calendar dates.
- Excluding Saturday and Sunday leaves 5 study days. A 12-hour study goal across those days averages 2 hours 24 minutes daily.
What the result tells you
Both endpoints count when they are eligible work dates. This suits planning days on which work can happen.
Before you use the result
Public holidays, school closures and personal unavailable days are not detected. Remove that capacity when building a realistic workload.
