Presentation Slide Pace Calculator
Turn a fixed presentation time into a simple slide-pacing target while leaving room for non-slide time.
Privacy: calculator inputs are processed in your browser; Lynara does not need to upload these values to calculate the result.
Formula
average minutes per slide = (presentation minutes − reserved minutes) ÷ slide count
Keep the question period out of the slide allowance
- A 12-minute slot with 2 minutes reserved leaves 10 speaking minutes. For 10 slides, the average is 1 minute each.
- A three-minute demonstration leaves only 7 minutes for the other 9 slides, or about 47 seconds per slide.
What the result tells you
Use the average to detect an overloaded deck rather than to force identical pacing on every slide.
Before you use the result
Budget introductions, videos and demonstrations in the same slot. Rehearse aloud because slide count cannot measure how much explanation the audience needs.
Useful for
- Slide-deck rehearsal planning
- Presentation pacing
- Allocating discussion or introduction time
Questions
What counts as reserved time?
Opening remarks, closing remarks, demonstrations, audience interaction or any time you do not want divided across slides.
Should every slide last exactly the average?
No. Use the average as a pacing reference and redistribute time according to content.
