Harvard references depend on the variant your institution requires

Harvard is an author–date family rather than one universal citation manual. Lynara uses a Cite Them Right-style pattern aligned with University of Sheffield guidance and keeps that variant visible instead of presenting it as the only Harvard format.

The same source facts can be reused across styles, but punctuation, author truncation, edition wording, access dates and online-source presentation can differ between Harvard variants.

Need the same source in a different style?

Harvard and Turabian can both use author-date workflows, but their reference patterns are not interchangeable. Reuse verified source metadata, then choose the system your assignment actually requires.

Questions

Which Harvard style does this generator use?

It uses a Cite Them Right-style pattern aligned with University of Sheffield guidance. Harvard conventions vary, so check the version required by your institution or course.

Can it generate an in-text Harvard citation?

Yes. The dedicated page generates a matching parenthetical author-date citation and can add p. or pp. for a numeric page or page range.

Does DOI lookup guarantee the citation is correct?

No. Imported metadata remains editable and must be checked against the source; the required Harvard variant can also differ by institution.
