Assignment Grade Impact Calculator
Model an upcoming assignment in either direction: enter an expected score to project the new accounted average, or set a target accounted grade to solve for the assignment score needed.
Privacy: calculator inputs are processed in your browser; Lynara does not need to upload these values to calculate the result.
Formula
projected grade = (current × completed weight + assignment score × assignment weight) ÷ accounted weight; required assignment score solves the same equation backward
Example
An 84% current grade across 60% completed weight plus a 92% assignment worth 10% gives about 85.14% across the now-accounted 70%.
Useful for
- Assignment what-if planning
- Score needed on an assignment
- Estimating one project or exam impact
- Comparing assignment-score scenarios
Questions
Can I calculate the score I need on an assignment?
Yes. Switch to Score needed, enter the target average you want across the newly accounted course weight, and Lynara solves the assignment equation backward.
Why do I enter completed course weight?
Your current grade describes work already represented in the gradebook. Completed weight tells the calculator how much influence that average has relative to the upcoming assignment.
Does this predict my final course grade?
No. It projects or targets the average across the weight accounted for after this assignment; future ungraded work is still unknown.
