Lesson Time Planner
Create a simple first-pass classroom time budget before assigning actual lesson activities.
Privacy: calculator inputs are processed in your browser; Lynara does not need to upload these values to calculate the result.
Formula
minutes per activity = (class minutes − opening minutes − closing minutes) ÷ number of activities
Transitions need time even when they are not named activities
- A 50-minute lesson with 5 minutes to open and 5 to close leaves 40 minutes. Four equal activities receive 10 minutes each.
- Three one-minute transitions would need another 3 minutes, taken from activity time or included in the reserved allowance.
What the result tells you
The equal allocation is a draft timetable that makes the total visible. It does not require equal time for every learning activity.
Before you use the result
Include attendance administration, materials handling and accommodations explicitly; these are not inferred from the activity count.
Useful for
- Lesson-plan timing
- Activity pacing
- Reserving opening and exit-ticket time
Questions
Does transition time count?
Include transition time in the opening/closing reserve or reduce the activity time manually if transitions happen between activities.
Do activities have to be equal length?
No. Equal time is only a starting allocation before you rebalance activities by instructional need.
